iPads and iPhones will increase graphics processing power by 4 times the current level.
According to sources from Electronista , Apple's iPhone and mobile tablet will use the dual-core version of the graphics processing chip SGX543MP2 . According to AppleInsider estimates, the new chip will have a theoretical efficiency of about 4 times higher than the currently used SGX535 chip.
Increasing processing power and speed may be the key to Apple being able to bring resolutions up to 2,048 x 1,536 pixels to the iPad as some rumors. In addition, with new hardware, both iPhone and iPad will be able to support Full HD 1080p video.
Graphics processing chip SGX543MP2 will likely be combined with ARM Cortex A9 dual-core chip (expected to be named Apple A5 , upgraded version of current A4 chip) to provide a much better overall performance, no only in watching videos but also in the ability to handle multiple tasks on the new íOS version.
Apple is expected to upgrade its models every year including the new iPad in April, the new iPhone in June or July or iPod Touch and Apple TV in September.
