To suit when chatting with non-native speakers or wanting to use multiple languages while typing online content, Google Gboard allows the use of multiple language keyboard options.
Add a second language to the smartphone keyboard
Remember that when you change the language using Gboard, the language settings on Android devices will not be affected.
To use this feature, you first need to install Gboard. There are other applications that offer these features, but Gboard is the most popular option. Just find the Gboard app on the Play Store and click Install.
Open any application on a smartphone that requires input, such as a social networking application.
Touch the space on the application interface where you must enter text.
When the keyboard is on, go to the top of the keyboard and press the menu option to open the features, usually indicated by three lines.
Find the gear icon near the top of the feature list and click it.
Select the Languages option and then click on the 'Add Language' tab .
A list of languages currently available on Gboard will appear. Select the language you want to enable.
Select the alphabet layout you want to have the new language appear. The layout determines how Gboard conveys what you typed in the final pen.
For example, one layout will give you the actual alphabet of the new language, while another will help you type phonetic words in English, using the English keyboard, and then switch. convert words into second language format.
Click Done to save the new language selection on Gboard.
Repeat this process for many languages that you want to add to the keyboard.
Switch between languages
Now, let's talk about the transition between multiple languages while typing.
Again, open any application to type and the keyboard.
To access the second or third language, at the bottom left of the keyboard touch and hold the small globe icon.
You will see a list of current languages on the keyboard. Select the language you want to use and the keyboard will display that language in the layout you have selected.
To switch back to English, press and hold the globe icon and select English from the keyboard language list.
Gboard offers lots of options and flexibility when typing in multiple languages. But ensuring that viewers can understand what you have written depends on yourself, especially while writing about a culturally specific thing for foreign viewers. That's when using images, GIFs and emoticons can help you convey the context of words in a way that language can never do.
Hope you are succesful.
