How to make passport online on phone, computer

With the online passport application method, you can save time and effort, and do it easily on a computer or phone with an Internet connection without having to go to the Immigration Department.

1. Conditions for making passport online

According to the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security, the online passport registration method is only applicable to citizens who meet the following requirements:

- Vietnamese citizens with a valid chip-embedded CCCD or 12-digit Citizen Identification Card.
- Possess a valid account on the National Public Service Portal.
- Able to make online payments through the government system.

 

2. How to make a passport online on PC

Step 1: Access the National Public Service Portal via the link HERE . Then, click Register .

- Select Citizen registration method => Verify average level by Mobile Subscriber .

Step 2: Enter Personal Information in the blank box.

- Click Register .

Step 3: Next, the system will send a verification code to your phone, enter the OTP code in the blank box => click Confirm .

- Enter the registration password , make sure to use 8 characters or more including lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and special characters => Register .

Step 4: Return to the National Public Service Portal homepage, click Login .

- Select Account provided by National Public Service Portal .

- Fill in Username (CCCD Number) , Password and Verification Code => Login .

- Enter the OTP code sent to your phone number => click Confirm .

Step 5: Enter Passport in the search box => click the magnifying glass icon .

- Select Issuance of ordinary passports without electronic chips domestically (implemented at the central level) .

- Click Submit online .

Step 6: Upload a 4x6 portrait photo, Front/Back of the CCCD with chip (Note: photo must be .jpg and 2MB in size). Then, fill in your personal information .

- Scroll down and select the type of passport requested , Receiving Agency and Passport Receiving Place .

- Download the Application form for reporting loss of ordinary passport , certified copies of documents and most recently issued ordinary passport => click Agree and continue .

 

3. How to make a passport online on your phone

With this method, you will need to own a National Public Service Portal account. In case you do not have an account, you can refer to the instructions in the following article to easily register.

Step 1: Open the browser and access the National Public Service Portal HERE . Next, click the Menu icon => select Login .

- Click Account provided by National Public Service Portal .

Step 2: Enter Username (CCCD Number) , password and verification code => click Login => enter OTP code sent to phone number => Confirm .

Step 3: Enter the keyword Passport in the search box => click the Search icon => select Issuing a regular passport without an electronic chip domestically (done at the central level) .

- Click Submit online .

Step 4: Upload a 4x6 portrait photo , front & back of the chip-embedded citizen ID card => fill in all information from items 1 to 13.

- Select Passport request content , fill in the request details and select the type of passport requested => Select the receiving agency , passport receiving location and register refund information .

- Download and save the available application forms as required to have your application approved => click Agree and continue .

 

4. Application review time, fees and validity period

- Normally, the time to review an online passport application will not exceed 8 working days from the date of receiving a complete application as prescribed.
- Cost: 200,000 VND + postal service fee (if any).
- The validity period of the new passport will be 10 years from the date of issue.
