1. How to insert a tick box in Google Sheets using Checkboxes

Step 1:

2. Insert Google Sheets checkboxes using Data Validation

Additionally, Google Sheets allows you to change custom values ​​with checkboxes. For example, a checkbox assigned the value TRUE will be checked, while an unchecked checkbox will be assigned the value FLASE.

Step 1:

Select the checkbox containing the value you want to change, then click on the Data item in the toolbar, and select Data validation… .

3. How to insert checkboxes in Google Sheets using keyboard shortcuts

Step 1:

4. Insert checkboxes in Google Sheets using the CHAR function.

The CHAR function returns a character from the character set based on its corresponding number from 1 to 255 in the character set. The checkbox symbol in Windows has the code 9989. You can simply apply the CHAR function formula =CHAR(sheet_number) to display the checkbox in Sheets.

5. Insert image-based checkboxes into Google Sheets.

If you only want to use the checkboxes for documentation purposes, without requiring any selections, and prefer a more aesthetically pleasing design, you can insert them as images.
