From April 13, 2018, domain name shortening service helps users to easily share on social networking sites or Google's affiliate marketing program (Goo.gl) will officially be close the door. Google will replace the service with a service that gives the smart URL address Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL).
According to Google's announcement, users can still use this service for another year or so, for new users or those who don't create an account, they won't be able to shorten the domain with the goo.gl service anymore.
Google launched the Goo.gl service since 2009, but due to the small number of users, Google decided to close it and replace it with a new service. It is a service that provides smart URL addresses, allowing redirecting potential users to addresses suitable for iOS, Android or web applications called Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL).
Currently, links created via the goo.gl service will continue to redirect to the landing page but will not be transferred via the new Firebase console. Users can use the goo.gl console to export link information.
