When you run an Office 2007 program (this program is still in use before), you receive an error message. The error message indicates that important changes have been made to the computer's configuration. This is an error message that appears when you experience the following symptoms:
• When you try to activate Office 2007 products, and the Activation Wizard window disappears
• When you try to use the Internet to activate Office 2007 products, you receive an error related to the communication.
• When you try to activate an Office 2007 product set after it has been successfully installed, the Activation Wizard does not run. You did not receive any error messages again.
After entering the authentication ID provided by the support staff, you receive an error message. The error message indicates that your authentication ID is invalid.
When starting an Office 2007 program (still in normal use before), the program runs but has some features reduced.
Note : Some activation issues may be due to the Opa12.dat file being corrupted in an Office 2007 program. One of the symptoms is that the product does not yet have Office Genuine Advantage validation.
Methods of handling problems
Note : If you are trying to install an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of Office 2007 on another computer, be aware that you can only install the OEM version on a single computer. If you want to install on another computer you have to buy a new version.
Method 1 : Verify the time and date and time settings are correct on the computer
Click Start , select Run , enter timedate.cpl and click OK (or double-click the clock icon to the right of the taskbar below the screen). If the time and date are incorrect, correct it. If this still does not solve the problem, continue with the second method.
Method 2 : Determine which version of the product you are trying in Office 2007
If Office 2007 products run in feature-restricted mode, you may be using an expired trial version of Office 2007.
Note : In feature limited mode, the features of the programs can only be viewed. When a program is running in restricted mode, many menu icons are unavailable (dimmed) to prevent the use of those menu features. Some limitations of feature restriction mode include:
• Cannot create new document.
• Can still view created documents but cannot edit them
• Can print documents but cannot save them.
