Because the coffin was carved with golden phoenix patterns, which were reserved only for noble women in ancient times, as well as the architectural structure and funerary objects in the tomb room, experts concluded that the owner of the tomb was member of the Liao Dynasty royal family.

What is worth noting is that the female body was not only dressed splendidly but also very well preserved. There was not much decomposition on the body. It turns out that the ancients would inject mercury into the body to ensure it would not decompose, the archaeological team immediately realized this and were not poisoned. After in-depth investigation, archaeologists confirmed that the coffin's owner was "Princess Yulu Jiangu", the biological sister of Yelu Abaoji, Taizu of the Liao Dynasty.

"Liao History" records that in 907 AD (the first year of Taizu), Yelü Abaoji proclaimed himself emperor, despite opposition from other nobles, causing a violent reaction . Princess Yulu Jian and her husband Xiaoshi Lu also rebelled, but the outcome was Failure, Xiaoshi Lu committed suicide because of her failure, the princess also chose to drink poison and died after her husband passed away. Experts speculate that the princess may have died from drinking poisonous wine containing mercury and that she was only about 30 years old when she died.
