Use the feature 'Why am I seeing this post?' to overpower the news feed Facebook

Have you ever opened the Facebook application, seeing the posts of an annoying friend showing up first without knowing why?

Have you ever opened the Facebook application, seeing the posts of an annoying friend showing up first without knowing why? Up to this point, there is no easy way to find the answer.

Recently, Facebook announced the expansion of the feature "Why am I seeing this ad?" Include articles from your friends. Previously, Facebook only details why you see an ad. This feature is gradually being implemented for all Facebook users, with the desire of all users to take advantage of the new feature since mid-May.

Find out why

Facebook is more transparent about why your news feed looks like that.

Select the three dot icon in the upper right corner of the post and click on the option 'Why am I seeing this post?' . A window will appear that gives you a reason, probably because you often like posts with photos from that particular friend or you clicked on the link that the person shared in the past.

If you test this feature for multiple posts, you'll see many different reasons for each friend and post type. If you regularly click on links shared by friends, Facebook will prioritize posts from those friends, instead of a post that contains only text.

Facebook lifted a bit of the secret of targeting ads. And that's scary.

You can see the same information about ads that appear in your feed, using the method outlined above, but choose 'Why am I seeing this ad?' from the drop-down menu. When viewing ads in a feed, you'll know the reasons you're targeted including location, age, gender, interests, keywords, or because you've visited that company's website.

Take action!

There are a few things you can do to make sure you don't continue to see annoying posts from a friend.

Facebook offers two different options for managing news feeds. You can cancel tracking a person, without canceling a friend, in the Manage What you See in News Feed section of the pop-up window "Why am I seeing this post?" . Click on the friend's name, then select Unfollow. Once again, unfollowing will prevent you from doing some annoying things and the person will not be notified that you have canceled their follow up.

Also, if you want, just post the post from someone else. Temporarily post posts from a friend, aka Snooze, will delete their posts from your news feed for 30 days. They will not know that you suspended the display of their posts in the news feed. To use this feature, tap the three dots icon in the upper right corner of one of their posts, then click Snooze. As can be seen in the screenshot above, you can also unfollow a page or friend from the same menu.

When it comes to advertising, basically, you can block ads from specific companies or delete ads and ads that trigger ads from your profile. When on the screen "Why am I seeing this ad?" , tap the text highlighted in blue and then choose to hide or delete.

Hope you are succesful.
