How to hide Facebook ads, neatly interface with Social Fixer
There are sponsored ads on Facebook and if you want to hide them, following how to adjust settings on Facebook will not work. So we need to use some other Facebook ad hiding tools like Social Fixer. This utility is installed on popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari. You can use Social Fixer to hide unused Facebook content areas such as the Story section, game introduction or sponsored ads.

Instructions for adjusting Facebook interface
Step 1:
Users access the link below to access Social Fixer's homepage and select the utility version that is suitable for the browser they are using.

Next you install the utility on your browser to use. The article is done on Chrome browser, other browsers do the same.
Step 2:
Access your personal Facebook account and you'll see the wrench icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Clicking on this icon will display a list of options to change the Facebook interface for users to choose. First, click Hide / Show Parts of the Page at the Actions section.
Step 3:
Immediately some of the content on the Facebook interface is covered in green so we can choose to hide them if desired.Click on the area to hide and click Done Hiding to proceed to hide the content.
For example, press the X button to hide the list of menus on the left of the interface and the results of the Facebook interface are reduced as shown below.
Step 4:
To display the hidden content again, the user also clicks Hide / Show Parts of the Page again. Display the pop-up content interface, select Show Hidden Items to display the hidden content.
The hidden content is covered in red, and also clicked on the X button and then click Done Hiding to confirm the display is OK.
Step 5:
If you want to hide sponsored ads on Facebook , users click on the Social Fixer Option option in the Options in the menu of Social Fixer.
In the new interface, click Filters in the list on the left side of the screen.
Continue to look at the content on the right to find Filter Subcriptions and then click on the plus sign at Hide Sponsored Actions and Suggested Posts (Social Fixer> = 24.0) . Below we can also add a plus sign if we want to use the filter.
Immediately the Active Filters section displays a new filter. Click Save Changes to save the changes.
Users then need to reload Facebook to update the new filter. As a result we will see sponsored ads on Facebook not showing up on the interface anymore.
Step 6:
In case the user wants to turn off this Facebook ad filter , also access the Filters section again, then tick the red X to clear the filter. When the utility asks if the user is sure that he wants to delete the filter, click OK to agree.
Overall, the Social Fixer utility works relatively well, the Facebook interface is more compact when hiding some unnecessary content. Note to users, the option to hide Facebook ads is not applied to the entire ad, there will be hidden content and the content will still be displayed later.
