Turn off Autoplay in Windows 10, XP

Autoplay works not only on CD-ROM but also on flash drives and extended hard drives that we connect to our computers. You must have been worried that some malware code has been compromised on one of those devices, Autoplay will give it a link to your system.

Set up your Windows version to disable the Autoplay feature for all system devices. The fastest way I know to accomplish this result is to set up a group policy for the computer.

Enter gpedit in the search bar to open the Group policy editor.

Next in the left panel of the Local Group Policy Editor window, go to the following order:

Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> AutoPlay Policies

Look to the right, find Turn off Autoplay and double click on it. Select Enabled , in the Options box, select All drives to turn off on all drives, or just turn off CD drives and removable drives.
