Nearly 20 years ago, a photo of a gentle, green hill on the background is a clear blue sky, adorned with a few white cloud clusters that Microsoft bought the rights to use. Now, "Bliss" has become the "legendary picture" everyone looks at.

The author of this photo is Charles O'Rear, a photographer who worked for National Geographic. On a Friday afternoon in January 1996, Charles O'Rear saw the beautiful scenery of Los Carneros as "molting" after the winter rains while driving from his home. Helena, California, in the northern Napa Valley of San Francisco, visits girlfriend Daphne Irwin (later his wife).

Charles O'Rear immediately pulled the car to the side and used his medium-sized camera to capture the beautiful green scenery.

In 2000, Microsoft engineers bought the photo copyright and named the image "Bliss". It is used as the default wallpaper of Windows XP operating system. At that time, about 1 billion Microsoft computers installed the default wallpaper 'Bliss' so it became the most viewed image in the world.

What is special is that Charles O'Rear does not use any software to edit the photo. When Microsoft bought the license, the technology group's engineers only made the image in the image darker.

After nearly 20 years, the hills that photographer Charles O'Rear photographed 'Bliss' have changed a lot, although it is difficult for many modern photographers to "blink" the beautiful natural scenery like the old year. Therefore, "Bliss" becomes "unique".

Don't believe it, take a look at the photos below to see Los Carneros vineyards of America's AVA, the area and location of the old Charles O'Rear photographed how the "legend" changed.
