The world's first Keycap, type text by pressing on the head
Keycap is the part of the keyboard that we touch and has letters printed on it.
Google Japanese engineers took the idea of keycaps to invent the hat-shaped Gboard Caps keyboard. This Gboard hat not only sits on your head but also supports text input anywhere via Bluetooth connection.
Gboard Caps is a keyboard that combines fashion and convenience. Even though there is only one button on the wearer's head, data can still be entered by rotating the device.
Specifically, when you rotate the hat, the gyroscope sensor hidden inside will determine the rotation angle and convert it into the corresponding character code, then the user just needs to press on the head. Through Bluetooth, this character will be sent to your PC or smartphone.
Google engineers also integrated keystroke sounds to make pressing operations more realistic.
Users can use Gboard Caps to post to social networks or comment in livestream applications. Gboard Caps have a lining at the bottom to help increase durability, and a chin strap to help fix the keyboard when in use.
Currently, Google engineers also publish the design and other information of Gboard Caps so that users can add features to the hat you already have, or even create a hat according to your own preferences. .
This is not the first time Japanese Google engineers have announced a strange invention. Last year they announced a ruler-style keyboard with all the keys in a row measuring up to 1.6m long.
