How do you pronounce Nvidia? If it's "NUH-vid-ee-uh", you're saying it wrong.

On its website, the semiconductor company cleared up the confusion and explained the correct pronunciation. According to the company, the correct pronunciation of Nvidia is "en-VID-ee-uh."

Nvidia was founded in 1993 by CEO Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem. According to Fortune, the name actually came from the fact that the company didn't have a name at the time. The three founders didn't take naming too seriously and focused on growing the company. They named the files "NV," which stood for "next version."

The three eventually settled on NVision as the company name, but since a toilet paper company had already used the name, Huang suggested 'Nvidia', a twist on 'invidia', which means envy in Latin.

Huang and his founders had the ambition to create a product that would be the envy of their competitors. And today, it seems that ambition has come true, with Nvidia valued at nearly $3 trillion and a host of Big Tech and startups racing to buy the company's latest AI chip.
