When software vendors recognize vulnerabilities in their products, they often release patches to fix those vulnerabilities. Make sure you immediately apply the relevant patches to your computer so that your system is protected.

What are the patches?

Just like a cloth patch used to patch common clothing holes, a software patch to fix vulnerabilities in the software program. The patches are updated to fix a problem or a vulnerability within a program. Sometimes instead of releasing a copy, software vendors will provide an upgraded version, even though they only work as a patch.

How to find the patch needed to install?

When the patch is released, software vendors often place on their website for users to download. Installing the patch immediately when it is an important job can help you protect your computer, preventing attackers from taking advantage of the vulnerability of the software to attack. Many software will automatically check for updates or software vendors that provide users with an option to receive automatic notifications about updates via a mailing list. If this automatic option is provided, we recommend that you use them, otherwise you should check their websites regularly to be able to upgrade them promptly.

You must also make sure you only download software or patches from websites you trust. Do not believe in links within email - because an attacker can use email to send users to dangerous websites, instead of installing patches when you install the wrong virus. You also need to be alert, patches attached to email attachments can also be viruses.
