Acer Aspire Timeline AS3810T is a 13-inch model, slim body, aluminum case, decent configuration and battery life of over 8 hours .

The AS3810T is a 13-inch model in the ultra-thin, ultra-light Timeline series that has been available in Vietnam market. Not the first laptop with a metal case as well as a "chiclet" keyboard like Apple Macbook, but the AS3810T is the product that fights these characteristics to become the standard in the design of ultra-thin, ultra-light laptop segment. initiated by Apple with the Macbook Air. The AS3810T is also truly outstanding with a battery life of 8 hours and 40 minutes thanks to Intel's latest CULV processor.

Still retaining the characteristics of Acer, beautiful design but not glamorous color, AS3810T has a case made from polished aluminum metal combined with less than 2.5 cm chassis similar to the Acer Aspire 3935 or Apple MacBook 13 inch aluminum case. The AS3810T is simpler and more rugged than the MSI X340 with a glossy plastic cover. Not only that, the AS3810T is also quite different in color with bright copper colors. With a weight of 1.63 kg much lighter than the HP Pavilion dv3z (2 kg) and Lenovo IdeaPad U330 (1.85 kg), both models have optical drive - DVD drive.

Like the MSI X340, the AS3810T uses a 13.4-inch 16: 9 aspect ratio screen with a maximum resolution of WXGA 1366 x 768 pixels, compatible with the HDTV screen. High-end 13-inch models like the Sony VAIO VGN-Z590 and Lenovo ThinkPad X301 have a screen with better resolution of up to 1600 x 900 or 1440 x 900 pixels. But the screen quality of the AS3810T is very good, not inferior to the HP dv3z, Lenovo U330, or 13-inch MacBook for sharp images, bright colors.

AS3810T is equipped with the same keyboard as the elder Acer Aspire 3935, "chiclet" keyboard with floating keys, wide spacing like the shape of chewing gum. The AS3810T keyboard is more appreciated than the MSI X340 because the keys are smooth and responsive for easy use. But the mouse button is different then, because it does not put the same surface with the touchpad, so it brings a feeling of uncertainty when the user is moving down from the touchpad, a little uncomfortable when getting used to. The multi-touch touchpad allows users to use the movements of their fingertips to zoom in or zoom out the image but still does not support rotation like the 13-inch MacBook touchpad.

Without an optical drive, the AS3810T is thinner than the 13-inch MacBook. Perhaps the decision to abandon optical drive is a common trend because for many users, this device is no longer needed, the latest is Dell's 14-inch 14-inch Studio model. Except for the lack of optical drive, the AS3810T still has all the basic and new communication ports such as 3 USB ports, LAN, integrated 5-in-1 card reader, 1.3 Megapixel Webcam, to output the screen External AS3810T images have both traditional VGA and HDMI-out ports. More impressive is its storage capacity with maximum hard drive capacity of up to 500 GB. With ultra-thin, ultra-light models like the AS3810T, the speaker system is often weak with low volume and lack of bass. By comparison, the HP dv3z and Lenovo U330 speakers are more appreciated than the AS3810T.

The ultra-low-voltage ULV (ultra-low-voltage) processor is usually much more expensive than conventional processor models, but powerful Intel Atom equips netbooks. The AS3810T uses an Intel Core 2 Duo U9400 1.4 GHz processor, though not a "steed" in terms of processor speed, but this is a dual-core chip, the MSI X340 is just a single core. Common applications such as web surfing, text editing or basic image editing are made easy on the AS3810T. With the support of 4 GB RAM, watching videos in HD 720p or 1080p format is completely feasible and not difficult. The AS3810T takes 1 minute 48 seconds to complete a video compression test, longer than the Acer 3935 (1:16), Lenovo U330 (1:16) and 13-inch MacBook (1:23).

Obviously, Acer didn't choose Intel ULV processors because of the speed but because of the long battery life. In addition, the storage capacity of the AS3810T battery is 56 Watt, larger than the Acer Aspire 3935 (39 Watt) and MacBook 13 inch (45 Watt). If the Lenovo U330's 57 Watt battery can only maintain the operating time of 2 hours 40 minutes, the AS3810T with 59 Watt battery can operate continuously for more than 8 hours, or even HP dv3z with 83 Watt larger battery It only helped to run 4 hours 9 minutes.

In Vietnam, Acer Timeline AS3810T configured Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500, 1.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Intel GMA 4.500MHD VGA cost about 14.2 to 15.4 million.
