Instructions for installing Minecraft texture packs

While the new updates of Minecraft may offer a few changes to the textures, for the most part it maintains a classic and iconic look. However, players may want to change new textures with packs available online. As long as Minecraft has been around, people have been creating unique mods and texture packs.

In this tutorial, learn the process of downloading and using the Java version Minecraft texture pack, which does not require downloading any additional programs. In general, the operations are quite simple and everyone just needs to make sure there is enough space on the computer.

How to install Minecraft texture packs

Create a folder for the selected texture pack

Before downloading the texture pack, everyone needs to create a folder. This tutorial will load the Overflow texture pack, so the folder is named MC Overflow Texture Pack. Download any texture pack and name the folder whatever you want, then take a look at some of the recommended downloadable texture packs.

Download texture pack

Once the folder is ready, it's time to download the texture pack. There are several websites that allow texture packs to be downloaded, and Planet Minecraft is one of the most popular.

Unzip the file

Open Minecraft Options

When hovering over the texture pack, people will see an arrow pointing to the right. Clicking this arrow will make the texture pack appear to the right, the location of the selected packs.

With the new texture pack at the top of the Selected column, press Done and Minecraft will reload so the new texture pack will be applied.
