HP Pavilion dv4 - good price laptop

With a reasonable price, from 900 to 1,500 USD depending on configuration, HP Pavilion dv 4 is a 14-inch multi-tasking laptop suitable for all users from high school to advanced.

Weighing 2.5 kg, Pavilion dv4 is lighter than dv5 and Toshiba Satellite A300. This line is equipped with a super-bright 14-inch screen, so the camera body is smaller than dv5 (15-inch screen) and is convenient for moving and still retains the ability to display true images. Icons and documents are not small but clear and vivid. The high-resolution mirror screen, combined with the 'endless flat' design, makes film and image quality smooth and brilliant. Many laptop users are quite sensitive to glossy mirror screens, but the Pavilion dv4 does not cause users to worry about not being glare and refract light like other models. 1.3 Megapixel webcam in a very neat position above the screen.

 

This laptop has a solid plastic frame, the flex cover is often seen on high-end laptops. Single hard coupling makes the screen stable. Like the dv5 and dv7, this line is also equipped with a silver-plated keyboard and chrome-plated surrounds.

The Pavilion dv4 is also a highly entertaining model, so the high-light multimedia key sequences with touch-sensitive technology are bright backlight. Besides the usual media keys, there is a volume control slider, mute button, Wi-Fi and QuickPlay separately. All of these buttons are silver-plated, and the Mute and Wi-Fi buttons will automatically turn yellow when muting or Wi-Fi signals. The release of QuickPlay mode is highly appreciated because the QuickPlay button allows to run instant media applications without starting Windows. This is a function that helps users access entertainment applications very effectively. Despite the modern design, if compared to the Toshiba Satellite L300 at the same price range, the L300's design is more impressive in the tonal circle.

The dv4's touch pad has a very flashy design, contributing to the overall design of the device, however, its area is quite small, only 38.1 x 76.2 mm, with two mouse buttons at the bottom. . The dv4's keyboard, on the other hand, looks very natural, matching the 14-inch screen of the Pavilion dv4. The keys are silver-plated on the entire surface, when the touch feels very light and sensitive but slightly slippery. It comes with Altec Lansing speakers and two headphone jacks.

The connections on dv4 are 3 USB 2.0 ports, eSata, multi-format card readers and HDMI. The only connection not available on the dv4 is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology N which only has Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g.

The test was conducted between HP Pavilion dv4, Toshiba Satellite A300 and Toshiba Satellite L300 to compare the performance of this laptop.

Of the only three, only Pavilion dv4 is equipped with 64-bit Windows operating system, allowing the use of 4 GB of RAM. Meanwhile 32-bit Windows only allows up to 3 GB. The Pavilion dv4 is on a different level from 32-bit competitors.

A conclusion drawn after testing is that HP does not seem to focus on batteries. Even at dv5 or older models dv2700, the battery only reaches over 2 hours with average usage. Dv4 is no exception.
