How to increase microphone volume on Windows 7

Windows 7 offers two options for amplifying microphone input. One is the standard microphone level, which controls sensitivity. The other is the Microphone Boost option, which amplifies the input sound to capture more audio.

Step 1 : Click the Start button and select Control Panel > Hardware and Sound , then click on Manage Audio Devices under Sound .

Step 2 : Click on the Recording tab and double-click on your microphone to open the Properties window , or right-click on the microphone and select Properties . An active microphone is indicated by a green checkmark.

Step 3 : Select the Custom tab > Microphone Boost . If your computer does not have a Custom tab , skip this step.

Step 4 : Click on the Level tab and move the Microphone slider to the right to increase sensitivity.

Step 5 : Move the Microphone Boost slider to the right to increase the amplification. If you don't see the Microphone Boost slider, your sound card probably doesn't support this feature.

Step 6 : Click Apply and OK to set it up.
