Guide to improving Spotify podcast recommendations

Finding new songs, albums, and podcasts on Spotify isn't always easy when you want to tailor your recommendations to your own preferences. But with a few simple tricks, you can adjust Spotify's suggestion settings to get you to recommend podcasts you're interested in. Here's how you can fix Spotify's podcast suggestions.

 

Rate every podcast you listen to.

The easiest way to let Spotify know about your podcast preferences is to rate every podcast you listen to. Spotify lets you rate any podcast, so podcast recommendations will be tailored to your tastes.

Go to the podcast page, select the three dots , and then click "View reviews ".

 

I don't care about podcasts that are off-topic.

For podcasts, you can mark a show as suggested using the "Not Interested" option. This is the quickest way to turn a podcast off the suggested list and instead show podcasts you like but may have missed.

On the Home tab , click on Podcasts to access them . Then you can click "Omit" for podcast topics you don't like .

Spotify lets you follow your favorite artists and creators. When you follow a podcast host on Spotify, recommendations will include their latest releases, but you'll also easily find other podcast hosts and similar shows in your following list.

 

Create a separate podcast category.

Use private listening mode on Spotify.

If you want to discover new podcasts on Spotify without being influenced by personalized recommendations, simply turn on private listening on Spotify.

This feature not only temporarily hides your listening activity from your followers, but also prevents any songs or podcasts you listen to from influencing personalized recommendations.
