Foxconn has confirmed it is no longer worried about the lack of workers due to Covid-19
Foxconn, Apple's leading iPhone maker, said it had enough workers to meet the seasonal needs at all major Chinese factories.
It also emphasized that the situation has stabilized after a period of labor shortages during the outbreak of the new coronavirus virus outbreak in China.
The company made a statement on Sunday evening saying it had achieved its pre-term recruitment targets at factories.
In early March, Foxconn President Young Liu told investors that the company's factories in China were operating again at about 50% capacity.
Foxconn also emphasized that they have taken stringent measures to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. According to Foxconn, a total of 55,000 workers have been given the Covid-19 test and more than 40,000 have had additional chest x-rays.
The iPhone assembler is expected to reach its highest production in July, a critical time to enter production of the iPhone 12 line in order for Apple to launch in the fall.
The Covid-19 epidemic has severely affected Foxconn's manufacturing operations, especially its factory chain in China.
Foxconn shares fell 4.7% on March 23, exceeding the 3.7% decline of the TAIEX index (the overall index of the market in Taiwan). The reason is attributed to investors' concern that the outbreak of Covid-19 caused a reduction in demand for electronics in the US and European markets.
