The new version of Chrome's Chrome browser has significantly improved speed, password synchronization, and has a new Options tab.

TipsMake.com - Google's new Chrome browser version has significantly improved speed, password synchronization and has a new Options tab.

As websites become more and more complex, multimedia transmission is becoming more and more popular, applications from computer-based integrations turn to web-based integration, making browsers even faster and more More features that meet those needs become increasingly important. In fact, if you spend most of your time with web-based applications, the need for a high-speed browser has become mandatory instead of 'yes, the better'.

The newly released Chrome 10 comes with speed improvements that make loading web pages faster and web-based applications also run faster. It also provides a completely new Options interface with improved security and better synchronization. Combining all the new features, you have a perfect browser .

Speed

Chrome is always fast and with this version it's even faster. The new version 10 incorporates Google's new JavaScript engine technology, Crankshaft, first introduced in December. In its Chromium blog, Google announced that Crankshaft improved 66% JavaScript processing speed as measured by standard V8 engine.

To compare Chrome 10 with its competitors, we ran the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark using a Dell Dimension 9200 computer with 2.40GHz Intel Core 2 Quad chip, 2GB of RAM running Windows Vista. Each test on every browser browse us 3 times and calculate the average result.

The results show that Chrome is close to keeping up with the long-time champion, Opera. Chrome 10 lost an average of 312.23 milliseconds (ms) to complete the test, while Opera 11.01 lost an average of 309.97ms. Safari 5.0.3 completed the test in 406,933ms, Firefox 3.6.15 followed with an average of 978.37ms and finally Internet Explorer 8 with 5,035.07 ms.

Keep in mind, however, that Internet Explorer 9 can take the lead when it is officially released on March 14. Our test showed that Internet Explorer 9 RC (Release Candidate) seems to be the fastest in all browsers with an average time of 274.6ms. In addition, Firefox 4 Beta 12 reached 321.3ms to complete tests, keeping up with Chrome and Opera.

Good news for Tweakers

The most noticeable change in Chrome 10 is the Options settings. When you click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select Options (Preferences on Mac lines), the menu will then open in a separate tab instead of in a relatively small window like the previous version. This makes it easier to find the options you want to change.

More importantly, you can search through the options, so you don't go looking to find the features you want to change. For example, if you want to change any settings related to the download or password you just need to type in one of those keywords and you will have direct access to those settings.

When you use the option, the Omnibox (Google name for the address bar) displays a URL for your location - for example, chrome: // setting / advanced for advanced settings and chrome: // setting / browser for basic installation. In some cases, a personal option or setting will have its own URL , such as chrome: // setting / passwordManager for password management. You can add these URLs to your Bookmarks if it is a feature you regularly use, which is something we find very convenient.

What's new?

Synchronization between multiple computers and other devices has improved.Chrome 9 synced bookmarks between Chrome versions running on Windows PC, Mac, Linux and Android Honeycomb devices like Motorola Xoom. (Honeycomb browsers look and behave like Chrome but are actually based on different codes, even though it syncs with Chrome. ) With Chrome 10 now, passwords are also synchronized.

We consider it a very meaningful gift because we use Chrome as the main browser on PC, Mac and Xoom computers. Thanks to that, when logging into Computerworld blog or online library account from any device, we no longer need to remember the password.

Another new feature of Chrome 10 is the security of data synchronization - your password is encrypted and therefore not afraid of being known by someone.

It takes a little time for us to find out how the synchronization features work. Finally, we found out by going to the Personal Stuff options page ( chrome: // setting / personal ), clicking Customize and then clicking OK on the Encryption tab. After that, it takes about 45 minutes for all passwords to sync.

Chrome's well-known security issues have also improved. The previous version of Chrome was using a virtual sandbox, in which the browser was completely isolated from the rest of your computer, so software or disruptive applications on the browser could not be from the browser and infect your device. In Chrome 10, the browser integrated Flash player is also included in the sandbox on computers running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

The last point

Chrome may only account for 10.9% of the browser market according to the latest statistics, but this version may help change that. If you haven't used Chrome yet , you may want to try it to improve your web browser speed. New tab options and password synchronization are also worth a look.
