DNS settings on the Mac are specified in the Network window.

In this article, we will change the DNS server settings on Mac OS 10.5.

First, you need to access Apple> System Preferences> Network.

If the padlock icon in the bottom left corner of the window is locked, click the icon to make changes and when prompted for authentication, enter your password.

Select the connection you want to configure Google Public DNS. For example: To change the settings for Ethernet connection, click Built-In Ethernet , then click Advanced.

To change the settings for wireless connection, click on Airport, then click Advanced.

Select the DNS tab .

Click + to replace any of the listed addresses or add Google IP addresses at the top of the list:

1. For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
2. For IPv6: 2001: 4860: 4860 :: 8888 and 2001: 4860: 4860 :: 8844.
3. For IPv6-only: You can use Google DNS64 instead of the above IPv6 addresses.

Next, click Apply> OK .
