Will Google change Android TV's name to Google TV?
It seems that Google is preparing for a branding change for the popular operating system on Smart TV, Android TV, to Google TV.
According to Neowin , Google has moved away from the Android brand for some of its products and services in recent times, including renaming the Android Messages app to Messages, while Android Pay to Google Pay . Surprised that Google also wants to rebrand Android TV to Google TV.
Despite the name change, the operating system itself does not have any breakthrough changes compared to Android TV, one of the popular operating systems on Smart TV today. Basically, the features of the product are still based on Android.
Google can make this branding silently like what it did recently by changing the name of Hangouts Meet to Google Meet, or the company can announce this when it releases the official version of Android 11. Last year.
Interestingly, in 2010, Google had a Google TV - the Android-based Smart TV platform that Google developed at the time. Finally, Google replaced Google TV with Android TV in 2014.
