Android Messages recently allowed users to send and receive text messages by connecting a smartphone to a computer browser, similar to the features in Whatsapp and Telegram.

You can now use the keyboard and computer screen to edit text messages. If you do not use an unlimited data plan, make sure your smartphone is connected to the Internet when applying this feature.

In addition to regular texts, Android Messages also supports RCS messaging, a new messaging standard that replaces regular SMS text that allows you to send and receive messages containing images, videos and other additional content.

However, some local mobile carriers may not support RCS messaging yet.

Android Messages is currently available for free on the Google Play store. You can also manually set the application to handle both text messages and RCS messages.

You just need to go to Settings (Settings), then select the default messaging app (Default messaging app), then select Messages (Messages).

Accordingly, the application will apply all required settings and enter the existing SMS.
