The most expensive aquarium fish in the world is nearly 10 billion each

Topping the list of the most expensive fish in the world is the platinum arowana (Platinum Arowana), a freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. A platinum fish was once sold for up to 400,000 USD (about 9.3 billion VND).

Platinum Arowana has a metallic color, the lower lip is two long antennae like dragon's beard, large glittering coin-shaped scales with three pairs of paired fins (pectoral, ventral and anal fins along the abdomen). This fish has a slender, oblong shape that can grow up to 90cm long.

The white, sparkling silver of the arowana's beautiful platinum arowana is the result of a very rare genetic mutation.

 

Arowanas are ferocious carnivorous fish, in the wild they are famous for their images of rushing out of the water and pounced on prey. Their favorite foods in the wild are small animals and crustaceans.

Although native to Southeast Asia, this fish is occasionally found in Australia, Africa and South America.

According to folk beliefs, arowana is a lucky fish, believed to bring fortune and career advancement.

Platinum arowana is very difficult to breed, takes a lot of effort and time, so this fish has a very small number. The lifespan of arowanas in the wild is about 20 years.

Therefore, it has become the dream fish of many exotic fish collectors all over the world. Depending on the size, age and "spotless" body of the platinum arowana, the price ranges from 10,000 - 80,000 USD/fish (about 200 million VND to 1.7 billion VND).
