The Messaging application is removed on Windows 8.1, integrated into Skype
In Windows 8.1 Preview just released, Microsoft has decided to remove the application Messenging inherent on Windows 8.
And according to the information that The Verge site has, the application will also be "deadly" in the stable version of Windows 8.1 released to users later this year.
Instead, Messenging will be integrated into Skype . On Windows 8 , Messaging supports Microsoft's Messenger service and Facebook's instant messaging function, bypassing Yahoo Messenger, Skype.
Skype is more tightly integrated into the Windows 8.1 update as it allows users to answer calls at the lock screen.
This move is said to be in the plan for Microsoft to death Messenger service. In April, Microsoft forced Messenger users to switch to Skype. The stable version of Windows 8.1 promises to be launched later this year with 7 and 8 inch small tablet models from Microsoft OEM partners.
