Microsoft removed the SMS Relay feature in the latest Skype update

Microsoft has just released a new Skype application built on React Native, via Fast Ring Build.React based on React Native brings significant improvements compared to previous XAML applications.

However, React Native application does not support Windows Phone because Skype does not support the SMS Relay feature.Instead, users can force the operating system to use the old UWP application to send SMS messages, but they are quite buggy and sometimes inactive.

Earlier, Microsoft still gave Windows Phone and Android Phone users a message with Cortana, but at the end of June, they decided to remove this feature and complete the last steps for Windows 10 updates.

Temporarily Microsoft will give up SMS Relay in the latest Skype update

Microsoft has not yet completed the process of testing the new React Native application, so we can expect new updates.Maybe they will bring SMS Relay back but now you can only see the messages but not send feedback.

Microsoft representative said: 'We temporarily stopped the ability of Cortana on Windows Phone 10 and the companion apps with Cortana Android allow you to receive messages from your PC, to evaluate the user experience.We will bring this feature back as soon as possible. '
