When working with Photoshop photo editing software, small and simple operations can also interfere with the speed of work. To help you increase your productivity, memorize and regularly use the list of shortcuts that cover many of the tools below. Whether it is changing the text size, unchecking the layer or mixing layers, all can be done with just a quick operation on the keyboard. Shortcuts Photoshop when working with layers

Note: On Windows you use the Ctrl key, on the Mac will be the Cmd key

  1. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + N : Shortcut to create new layer. The next time you start working on a product, use this shortcut to add a new layer quickly.
  1. Ctrl / Cmd + New Layer icon : Shortcut creates a new layer after the currently selected layer. Mastering a new layer is not difficult, when you are ready to add a new layer after the selected layer, use this key combination.
  1. Alt + Delete (foreground color) or Ctrl / Cmd + Delete (background color): Fill the layer (fill layer). This command helps you fill the white layer with foreground color (foreground color) or background color (background color) currently in use.
  1. Ctrl / Cmd + Alt + Shift + E: Shortcuts combine layers (Flatten layers). After adding a new white layer on top of all existing layers, use the upper key combination to merge all layers into a new layer. This creates a Flatten image version for the new layer but retains the old layer.
  1. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + E: Shortcuts to merge display layers (Merge visible layers). This command allows to merge all existing layers and create a new layer. Be careful with this operation because all the old layers will disappear and once merged, it will be difficult to separate them.
  1. Ctrl / Cmd + Alt + E: Merge the selected layers. After selecting the layers you want to merge, use this key combination to merge them. After merging they will bring the name of the top layer (along with the word "merged" in brackets). If you want to display with the new layer name, just add the Shift key.
  1. Ctrl / Cmd + J: Add layer by copying. This command helps create a new layer by copying from the existing layer.
  2. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + J: Add layer by cutting. Just like creating a new layer by copying but this command does not work with the whole layer but with a selection. In addition, this selection after being added to the new layer will also be cut from the old layer.

  2. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + [: Move the layer to the bottom

Shortcuts in Photoshop with selection

  1. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + D: Reselect the canceled selection. This great shortcut is extremely useful when you accidentally remove the selection, it will help regain the selection quickly.
  2. Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + I: Shortcuts reverse the selection. This command will help you reverse the selection, thereby helping to select the areas around the selected area.
  3. Ctrl + Alt + A (Cmd + Opt + A for Mac): Select all layers. A perfect and simple command to select all layers to manipulate (not including the background layer).
  4. Alt / Opt + comma (,): Select the bottom layer
  5. Alt / Opt + dot (.): Select the top layer
  6. Alt / Opt + drag and drop: Copy the selection. After selecting a selection, select the Move Tool and just hold down the Alt key and drag and drop the selection to copy.
  7. Shift + Alt / Opt + drag and drop: Copy the selection aligned. Similar to the 19th command, but when adding the Shift key, you cannot drag the selection anywhere where it is automatically aligned in vertical or horizontal rows.
  8. Ctrl / Cmd + D: Uncheck. This tool helps to deselect quickly.
  9. Ctrl / Cmd + T then Ctrl + 0: Display image resizing tool. When pasting a layer or selection into another image, if its size is larger than the existing image, it is difficult to see the corners to resize the image. This key combination will help select the Transform, then minimize the image to fit the window to easily resize it.
  10. Spacebar + Marquee Tool: Draw while moving the selection. This useful shortcut allows you to use the selection tool to move. When you are making a selection (not release the mouse button), press and hold the spacebar and bring the selection to where you want. When you release the mouse button, the selection is created, and when you release the spacebar, you continue to make a selection in that area without moving.
  11. Ctrl / Cmd + 3 (Red), 4 (Green) or 5 (Blue): Select each color channel (Channel). Choosing a color channel will help eliminate complex objects in the wallpaper more easily.
  12. Alt / Opt + Brush Tool: Choose a certain color from the image. When working with the Brush tool but want to get a color sample instead of using the Eyedropper tool, you just need to select the Alt or Option key on the Mac. Release this key and return to the Brush tool.
