Windows
These shortcuts are specific to Windows. We tested them on Win 10, but they also work on most previous versions of Windows.
Change the contrast: SHIFT + ALT + PRINT
In the default settings, this shortcut opens a warning window before applying any changes. Click Yes or simply press the Return button to switch to the high contrast setting window.
When you click Yes, this change will expand the font on all open windows and change the color for high contrast. For example, the desktop will turn black, the previous black text on white background will be reversed. Click on the shortcut key again to return to the original state.
Screen rotation shortcut: CTRL + ALT + up / down / left / right arrows
This shortcut will not work on all computers because it depends on your graphics card and video driver. However, if it works, it will rotate the computer screen. This is the fastest way to rotate the screen when you don't want others to use your computer easily or very hard to peek at the content on the screen.
Switch between open windows: ALT + TAB
This shortcut launches a paused window and displays open programs. Hold down the ALT key and press TAB to move to the next application. Release both keys to open the selected window.
You can reverse the direction of movement by holding down the ALT + SHIFT key while pressing TAB .
Delete without confirmation: SHIFT + DEL
You probably hate hate windows that appear like " Are you sure you want to permanently delete this file? " Like me. If you want to quickly delete those files without being asked, you can use this shortcut.
Do you want to delete immediately with the default settings? Click on Recycle Bin on the screen, select Properties and delete the confirmation next to Display delete confirmation dialog .
Display Desktop / restore open windows: Windows + D key
Instead of moving the mouse to the bottom right corner of the screen to view the desktop, press the Windows key + D shortcut. Press again to restore the windows as before.
Lock system: Windows + L key
You should manage your screen. Before you go out to get a cup of coffee or do something, press the Windows + L shortcut to lock your system. When you return, log back in, all programs and windows will appear as they were.
If you don't want to be bothered when typing long passwords every time you log in again, you can set up a short PIN.
Run Command Prompt as Administrator: Windows + R key, type cmd, hold down CTRL + SHIFT, then press ENTER
Unfortunately, this shortcut does not seem to work on Windows 10 Creators Update version. Instead, press the Windows + X key to open the Quick Access Menu, then use the up / down arrow keys to move the Command Prompt (Admin) item and press ENTER .
Power off: Windows + X, U, I / U / R / H / S keys
You can turn off the computer with just a few clicks. Start with the Windows + X shortcut to open the Quick Access Menu, followed by the U key to expand the options to turn off or log off. Finally, press I to log out, U to shutdown, R to restart, H to hibernate and S for sleep.
Create separate shortcuts for frequently used applications
Are there any folders and applications that you need to use a lot? Why not create your own shortcuts to quickly access these tools.
Note: This operation will only work with shortcuts on your computer.
First, you need to create a real desktop shortcut. Right-click on the application in the program folder or move it from the Start menu to the Taskbar icon, then select Create Shortcut from the context menu.
Make sure this shortcut is on the desktop. Now right click on the shortcut and select Properties . You will see a line showing the Shortcut Key: None. Click on that line and click any letter on the keyboard, eg P. This will create a shortcut, here is CTRL + ALT + P.
That's it, now you have your own shortcut
Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

Here, we choose shortcuts that work in both browsers and can be used in other browsers as well.
Go to the open tab: CTRL + [numbers 1 to 9]
Instead of scrolling through all open tabs, you can quickly navigate to a specific tab if you know its location. For example, pressing CTRL + 4 will jump to tab 4 (from left). With CTRL + 9 you will jump to the last tab, no matter how many tabs you open.
Scroll through each tab: CTRL + TAB or CTRL + SHIFT + TAB
Like Windows, you can use the CTRL + TAB shortcut to move through all open tabs from left to right. Add SHIFT key to move from right to left.
Close tab: CTRL + F4
Open closed tabs: CTRL + SHIFT + T
If you accidentally close a tab, you can use this shortcut to restore it.

General keyboard tricks
The following shortcuts will work in most Windows programs
Undo and redo: CTRL + Z and CTRL + Y
I am sure all of you can undo the changes with the CTRL + Z shortcut. It is the easiest shortcut to remember when you mistakenly manipulate.
Did you know that you can undo the undo, ie redo what you did using CTRL + Y ? This feature is useful when you have to repeat a task, such as pasting the same information into several locations.
Close an open window: CTRL + F4
This will quickly close your current window. You can also use it to turn off the browser, including all open tabs. Note that the CTRL + Z key will not work here. Alternatively, press CTRL + SHIFT + T to restore the browser tab (this operation only works if another browser window is still open).
Zoom: CTRL + mouse or Touchpad rollers.
With high resolution screens, we often find that text on web pages has too small text. Here is a little trick to help you increase the font size quickly so you can read better. This operation requires the use of a mouse, but you can also use the touchpad.
You can hold down the CTRL key, move the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the font size. When using this shortcut in Windows File Explorer, the shortcut will cycle through different Layout settings.
Besides, you can use CTRL + O to restore the default zoom level.
Those are all the most useful shortcuts. Your job now is to select the frequently used shortcuts and remember them. Once you have mastered the keyboard shortcuts, your mouse will soon be abandoned.
