Microsoft stopped updating for Windows 10 1903 from December 8, 2020

December 8, 2020, Windows 10 version 1903 will receive the final cumulative update. From this date on, Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 version 1903.

This policy applies to all Windows 10 SKUs, including Home, pro, Pro for Workstations, Enterprise, and Education. Windows 10 Spring updates are typically supported for 18 months, while winter updates support 18 months for Home and Pro SKUs and 30 months for Enterprise and Education SKUs. That is why Windows 10 Enterprise or Education version 1809 was still supported until May.

However, because of COVID-19, Microsoft extended support for Windows 10 1809 by 6 months. On November 20, Windows 10 1809 officially stopped supporting the update.

Windows 10 1903 played a very important role in Microsoft history because it was the first feature update of Windows 10 that didn't automatically install on users' computers. Since 1809 was a mess, Microsoft changed its policy, giving users the option of installing feature updates instead of imposing them. However, Microsoft will force users to upgrade to a new version of Windows 10 if the version they are using is nearing end of support.

With version 1809, Microsoft started to force users to update to Windows 10 2004 from June. Last month, the software giant also forced users to update version 1903 to Windows 10 1909 because versions 2004 and 20H2 were still unstable.

If you are still using Windows 10 1903 you should update your operating system to avoid security risks. You can update by checking for a new version in Windows Update or by using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool upgrade.
