Windows 10 1809 users were forced to update to Windows 10 2004
A year ago, Microsoft launched the Windows 10 May 2019 Update with an important change in how Windows updates are distributed. Specifically, from then on, users are no longer required to immediately upgrade to the latest Windows version but can choose different update options.
However, there are some exceptions. For example, if you are using an out-of-date version of Windows 10, Microsoft will automatically upgrade your system to the latest Windows 10. And this is happening to users who are still attached to Windows 10 version 1809.
If you do not update quickly to Windows 10 1903 or 1909, Windows 1809 users may have trouble when the system updates itself to Windows 10 2004In May, Microsoft warned users that computers running Windows 10 1809 would automatically be updated to Windows 10 2004. And now, Microsoft's automatic update system has begun to work. Currently, Windows 10 2004 has a lot of nasty bugs. Therefore, Windows 10 1809 users may have trouble if the system updates itself to Windows 10 2004.
Windows 10 1809, also known as Windows 10 Octorber 2018 Update, is also a troublesome update. Microsoft released it ahead of time, ignoring the Release Preview release round of the Windows Insider test program. In the end, this update was so buggy that after only 4 days of release, Microsoft had to withdraw it. More than 1 month later they still can not release Windows 10 1809 for users.
However, the problems were finally fixed by Microsoft. Currently Windows 1809 accounts for 8.2% of the total number of computers running Windows 10.
You will not have to do anything if you are using Windows 10 1809 and make sure that your computer will not have problems with Windows 10 2004. However, if you want to be stable, avoid unnecessary troubles, you can upgrade. upgrade your computer to Windows 10 1903 or 1909 before the system automatically launched Windows 10 2004.
