Microsoft is updating Windows 10 with many new features
However, it is almost certain that there won't be any really big, comprehensive changes introduced - at least according to Microsoft's plan. Instead, the company tested a series of interface-related innovations for the Windows 10 Sun Valley update, along with a number of changes that are now included in preview builds.
Personalize your wallpaper
After a long delay, the latest preview build finally includes support for 'Windows Spotlight'. This is a feature that allows to display Bing wallpapers on the Windows desktop. When the 'Spotlight' option is enabled on the personalization settings page, your desktop will display constantly changing, eye-catching images that correspond to your homepage, Bing and Microsoft lock screens. Launcher.
Notably, it is likely that this feature will be applied by Microsoft with machine learning technology, allowing the wallpaper to change according to the preferences and usage habits of the user.
As shown in the screenshot above, you can configure Windows Spotlight by navigating to Settings> Personalization> Background. To enable Bing wallpapers, select the 'Spotlight Collection' option under the 'Background' menu.
It's worth noting that you won't see any ads appear on your screen while Spotlight is active. In addition, there will also be a widget called 'spotlight' for you to learn more about this feature.
This feature is purely optional, meaning that users can turn it off when needed. Therefore, no case of Microsoft forcing users to use Bing's suggestions will not happen.
Touch keyboard personalization
Microsoft is also introducing a new 'touch keyboard' personalization setting to help you change the look of your touch keyboard.
For example, you'll be able to change the color of keys or borders, the amount of background opacity, keyboard ratio, layout, and more.
Optimize Windows 10 for specific use
A third new personalization installation package is 'Device Usage', a new feature that gives Microsoft a better understanding of how you plan to use your device, thereby helping to personalize your Windows experience as much as possible with how to recommend tools and services you might like and want to use.
This feature is also completely optional, and users must share their data to access the list of suggestions. Currently, Microsoft is testing six major categories - Gaming, Schoolwork, Creativity, Entertainment, Business and Family.
In short, it's an in-depth personalization feature that helps recommend tools and services based on the specific ways, goals, and habits you plan to use your device.
In addition to these personalization options, Microsoft is also incubating a modern user interface and new icon pack for File Explorer.
All of these improvements will hit the production channel later this year.
