After announcing the series of " abdominal surgery " MacBook Pro Retina, iFixit continued to reveal information about the Retina display supplier for this product. The source said that the company providing screens for MacBook Pro Retina is not Sharp as many people think it is but LG.

Earlier, Dr. Raymond Soneira, a screen expert, had predicted that Apple would use Sharp's IGZO screen on the new MacBook Pro Retina. This screen technology is advertised as being "smoother " than the iPad 2012 which saves energy more than other products. However, Apple did not choose the IGZO screen because it improved its battery performance by using Intel's latest Ivy Bridge chip and replacing conventional hard cells with SSD.

According to Slashgear, because Apple uses components from many different vendors, some MacBook Pro models using Retina monitors from non-LG brands may exist. IGZO screens can still be equipped on "Apple" products in the future.
