Step 2:
Click Add to Chrome to install the utility.
Next, click on Add add-on to complete the installation of the Ghostery utility in the browser.
Immediately after successful installation, the utility will notify the successful installation for the user and appear the last icon of the address bar on the Chrome browser.
Step 3:
Soon, we can use the utility to find out what service is following you when entering the browser. We will take the example when visiting the TipsMake.com website.
Here, you will see an automatic number appear on the widget's icon , corresponding to the number of 3rd party services on that site that track you .
Step 4:
To see the details of what those services are, you will click the icon on the toolbar.
The list of services will be listed by the Ghostery utility so users can follow up.
Step 5:
To disable certain service tracker , you just need to push the horizontal bar to the right of that service to stop it. For example, with Facebook Connect. You will see that the Tracked Blocked message has been blocked.
You then reload the site and you will see a change in the sharing section on Facebok. The sharing icon on Facebook has been blocked and has the Ghostery icon included.
To cancel blocking , you just need to push the horizontal bar on that item to the left to return to the same way.
Step 6:
In addition, the utility has many other options:
- Pause Blocking : stop blocking tracking services on the page again.
- Outside circle of each service : always allow this service to follow on the website.
- Whitelist Site : allows tracking services all on this site without being affected by Ghostery utility.
So we showed you how to complete the steps to use the Ghostery utility to prevent tracking services, as well as adjust which services are allowed or not allowed to follow.
