How to fix the error when the computer starts automatically when plugged in
Sometimes you may have a computer that turns itself on every time the power is plugged in or when the power is restored after a power failure. So how to fix?
In the article below, TipsMake will suggest you a few ways to check and fix this problem.
Check the BIOS
The first thing you need to do is to check if the BIOS is set to always start when power is on. Proceed as follows:
- Start the computer and access the BIOS
- How to access the BIOS
- In the BIOS , navigate to the Power Management Setup section
- Navigate to the State After Power Failure line
- In this section there are three states:
- The first is Off: Always in off state when AC back .
- The second is On: Always power on system when AC back (Always turn on the device when the power is restored)
- Finally, Auto: System power on depends on the status before AC lost . That is when the power is restored, the computer will turn on or off depending on the state of the computer before the power failure
- To fix the problem when the computer turns on automatically when power returns, choose Off
Check the power supply
If you have switched the BIOS settings to Off and the problem has not been resolved, you should check the power button, power supply and motherboard. First, check if your power button is stuck or not.
You can also try replacing a different set of power buttons to see if the problem fixes.
Good luck.
