There are different types of arrows represented by Alt Code values. You can  import arrow symbols in Excel, in Word,  etc. or you can copy and paste them wherever you want.

How to type an arrow?

To type an arrow symbol using its  Alt Code in Word, Excel etc  ;

1. Make sure you enable NumLock,
2. Press and hold the key Alt,
3. Enter the Alt Code value of the arrow you want, e.g. down arrow symbol, 25 vào numeric keypad entry
4. Release the Alt key and you have a down arrow  .

**The procedure mentioned above is not applicable to MacOS.

How to type Arrows in Word or in Excel using Unicode values?

First, enter the Unicode Hex value of the arrow icon where you want it and select the value according to the cursor, then press and hold the down alt key and place it in front of the x.

For example to enter a  down arrow  in Word;

1. Enter the first type  2193where you want to create a down arrow,
2. Select2193 by pointer,
3. While the Unicode Hex value is selected, press and hold the key Alt and type  X,
4. Release the key  Alt and you have a down arrow  .

**The procedure mentioned above is not applicable to MacOS.
