Instructions for blurring PowerPoint 2016, 2019 background
Step 1:
Open the slide that needs to have a background image inserted in PowerPoint. Next, click Design on the Ribbon to adjust.
Continue looking down at the editing group below and click on Format Background .
Step 2:
Displayed on the right side of the screen, you click on Picture or texture fill to insert a background image into the PowerPoint slide. Next, we click on File to download the background image for the slide with the image you choose.
Step 3:
Next, also in the background image editing interface in PowerPoint, you adjust the Transparency bar to adjust the opacity of the image. You adjust the % to get the background blur effect you want.
If you want to apply the background blur setting in PowerPoint to all subsequent slides, click Apply to All.
So all slides have a blurred background inserted as shown below.

How to create a blurred background image in PowerPoint 2007
Step 1:
In the PowerPoint interface, we click on the Design tab on the Ribbon bar and then click on Background Styles . Then select Format Background to replace the background image for the slide.
Step 2:
The Format Background panel appears, here select Picture or texture fill to display the option to add an image as background.
Next below we click on the File button to download available images from the computer.
Step 3:
Go to the image storage folder on your computer, click to select the image and click Insert below.
Note to users , to make the photo chosen as the background balanced and highlight the content on the slide, users should choose photos with a light background, accompanied by small dark details.
Step 4:
Next, also at the Format Background interface, look down at the Transparency section , the user will adjust the horizontal bar to blur the selected background image. Or you can adjust by checking and arrowing to select the opacity percentage for the image you want.
The above blurring method will apply to 1 open slide. If you want to blur the image for all existing slides, click on any slide and press Ctrl + A to select all. The blurring operation will be performed similarly as above. Or blur 1 slide and press Enter to create many similar slides.
Finally, you enter the content for the slide and adjust the text color to stand out from the blurred background image.
Blurring the background image will help the content on the slide stand out more when we create a presentation on PowerPoint. In addition, you can also adjust the text on the slide to combine with the background image appropriately, creating an aesthetic for the presentation.
