How to block strangers from messaging on Threads

Now you can message on Threads instead of having to access the Instagram app to message someone. By default, Threads allows anyone to message you on Threads, including strangers and people you don't follow. This will annoy you when you receive promotional messages or messages you don't care about. Here are instructions to block strangers from messaging on Threads.

Step 1:

You also need to access your personal Threads account interface. Then click on the 2 dashes icon in the top right corner of the interface.

 

Step 2:

Display the settings interface for Threads account, the user clicks on Privacy to change. At this time, the user clicks on Messages to change the settings for receiving messages on Threads.

 

Step 3:

Threads allows anyone to message you, even people you don't follow. To block Threads messages from strangers , tap Only people you follow .

This way we won't be bothered by anyone via Threads messages and only those in your follow list can message you.
