If you regularly read the articles on our site, you will probably know that we have provided a series of articles about deploying Vista, which introduced many concepts and tasks. Basic for automating the deployment of Windows Vista SP1 Enterprise using the following kits:
At this point, Windows 7 is being released for testing at the Release Candidate stage, many businesses have gone through the process of migrating their desktop computers to Windows Vista, and will need to carefully examine the process of migrating them to Windows 7. This is a necessary job because there are two very legitimate reasons:
Instead of reintroducing all of the 31 introduction to deploying Vista to update them for this new Windows 7 operating system, we only added a few articles that focused on the middle of deploying the two platforms. This method will make this series shorter than the previous series, but still provide enough new features of Windows 7 deployment.
Let's start by looking at the latest version of the Windows AIK and how it was changed in Windows 7.

Note 2: This series is based on the Release Candidate (RC) version of Windows 7, there will be some upgrades to this version when the final release is provided so you should be aware.
Improvements of Windows AIK 2.0
In Part 1 of the Vista deployment series, we introduced you to version 1.1 of the Windows AIK, which includes a number of tools, documents and some things that allow you to automatically deploy Vista. . Windows 7 has a new version of Windows AIK that includes new deployment tools, besides some old tools that are deprecated in this new version.
First, here are some tools included in Windows AIK 1.1 and are included in the Windows AIK 2.0 but there is some change:
Finally, the following tools, now part of the Windows AIK 1.1, are now deprecated in the Windows AIK 2.0:
Install Windows AIK 2.0
You can install Windows AIK 2.0 from the technician computer running any of the following operating systems:
If you install Windows AIK 2.0 on the operating system before Vista, then you must download and install the previous .NET Framework 2.0 and MSXML 6.0 on your system.
Figure 1 below shows the screen when installing the Windows AIK 2.0. Note that you can use this screen to download additional tools needed to perform your deployment:
Once Windows AIK 2.0 is installed on the technician computer, you can use it to deploy the following operating systems:
