About 1,000 workers at a Foxconn factory in Chongqing Province , China went on strike Wednesday ( October 8 ) for about 4 hours. According to Foxconn, workers here demand a pay rise due to the recent increase in workloads, along with reduced overtime hours.

The Labor Confederation and employees are working with Foxconn to seek ways to solve the problem, and argue that the strike does not disrupt production at the Chongqing plant .

According to the Wall Street Journal, an anonymous worker said the workers' reactions began when management continued to increase production volumes, even asking them to take on work equivalent to two people, while The salary remains the same.

Besides, some workers are dissatisfied because Foxconn has reduced overtime hours, an important component affecting their salaries.

Foxconn currently has about 30,000 workers at its Chongqing plant, supplying components to Apple, Sony, Microsoft and HP.
