Check if your computer supports USB 3.0:
To see if your computer supports USB 3.0, follow the steps below:
1. Right-click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen to open the Power User Menu, or alternatively press the Windows + X key combination.
Next on the Power User Menu, click the Device Manager option .
2. On the Device Manager window, find and expand the USB Controllers node section .
3. If your computer supports USB 3.0, you should see the item containing the xHCI or eXtensible Host Controller section .
Note:
This only applies to Windows 8 and Windows 10. If you use Windows 7 you will have to rely on the help of the 3rd application to check.
