Update Windows 10 April 2018 Update, do not use Chrome

Not surprisingly, Microsoft is trying to make Edge the choice for as many Windows 10 users as possible. Advertising shows that Edge is more than 3rd party products is also part of this strategy.

Earlier this week, Microsoft released a 30-second video on YouTube that showed Microsoft Edge outperformed rivals Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox in terms of power saving when doing simple tasks like watching videos.

The Microsoft self-running benchmark compares the battery life of the device when using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox to run HD video continuously. Not surprisingly, Edge wins when it can run 98% longer than Firefox and 14% more than Chrome.

The Benchmark is implemented on the same Surface model running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, thereby saying that its browser is the best choice for laptops after updating the latest OS.

Google Chrome is still the world's leading browser

No matter how Microsoft tries to market and promote when it comes to Edge, Google Chrome is still the preferred browser. According to data from NetMarketShare, Chrome ran on 61.69% desktop computers around the world in the past month, while Firefox ran far behind with 10.17%. Edge is far from a rival when it currently only accounts for 4.45%.

Microsoft Edge replaced Internet Explorer to become the default browser on Windows 10, with many new features, support for new utilities. Although still constantly growing, Edge is quite slow with other competitors because it only updates on the latest and irregular Windows 10.
