Skype provides real-time voice translation

From today, users can experience real-time translation tools on Skype. This tool supports real-time translation for more than 40 languages, and promises to eliminate all communication barriers in the world.

The Skype Translator project provides the ability to quickly translate both spoken and written languages ​​to participants in Skype conversations, helping two completely different bilingual speakers to communicate without any barriers. block The test program began to support the translation of spoken languages ​​of English and Spanish, and 40 other languages ​​will be supported for real-time translation when chatting in writing.

At the beginning, this program is limited to users of Windows 8.1 software (on the desktop or phone) . This software has been tried with schools in the US and Mexico. The more you use it, the smarter the software becomes. The more the software listens to a word in the conversation, the more accurate it is.

Early experiments yielded very promising results, but so far what we have seen are only rudimentary translations tested in the classroom environment. If successful, this will be a technology with great power.
