The real-time translation feature officially docked the Google Translate app
Google Translate is one of the most popular free online translation tools in the world today, especially for students or those who often travel abroad.
Google Translate lacks another feature to make it perfect, which is real-time translation. And today, Google has officially announced the implementation of this feature with initial support for 8 different languages.
In particular, the Real-time Translation (Transcribe) feature will be launched first for Android smartphone users starting on March 19, 2020, and will be coming to iOS shortly afterwards, along with the possibility of initial support for English, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Thai. This feature will allow you to record words spoken in a language and convert them into translated text on your phone, all done in real time, without any delay. which part of the process thanks to the help of the AI system that Google has built in the application.
To use this feature, make sure your phone is connected to the internet, as the Google Translate software will have to communicate with the server's Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) - a centralized processor chip. into custom AI for use in cloud servers, supporting real-time tasks. After the Google Translate app has been updated to the new version, you'll see a ' Transcribe ' button, next to the 'Camera' and 'Conversation' buttons. Click this button, a simple interface will be launched, with a menu that allows you to select the source language and destination. Other customizations include text size, subject, and textual visibility.
Google says this Transcribe feature will now work best in environments where there is not too much noise. In the future, there will be more new language options added, as well as the ability to operate in many different environments and situations.
