OpenAI pauses plans to deploy ChatGPT Voice Mode

The ChatGPT Voice Mode demo revealed in May led many to believe that the OpenAI-generated voice sounded very similar to that of Scarlett Johansson, the voice actress of the fictional AI chatbot Samantha in the 2013 film Her. For its part, OpenAI has denied that the "Sky" voice used in the ChatGPT Voice Mode demo was sampled after Johansson's voice. However, the company has decided to pause the use of that digital voice for now.
