Officially released HDMI 2.1 standard that supports 10K video and Dynamic HDR

Up to now, this standard has been available on accessory cables, also compatible with all previous HDMI parameters.

Since January, the HDMI Forum has revealed a new standard for HDMI connectivity, named HDMI 2.1. Up to now, this standard has been available on accessory cables, also compatible with all previous HDMI parameters.

The important point on HDMI 2.1 is the wider video bandwidth, 48 Gbps support with the new ultra-high speed HDMI connector. It also supports higher refresh rates for high resolution videos - 60 Hz for 8K videos and 120 Hz for 4K videos. The new standard also supports Dynamic hDR and resolution up to 10K for commercial or special use.

The new HDMI standard focuses heavily on video bandwidth

The new HDMI standard with a higher refresh rate will be welcomed by gamers. VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) decreases, in some cases eliminating lag during game play, while Quick Frame Transport (QFT) will reduce latency.

Quick Media Switching QMS will reduce standby time by black screen during media transfer. HDMI 2.1 also has Auto Low Latency Mode (AKKM) that automatically sets the ideal delay, for the smoothest viewing experience.

This is a comparison between the HDMI versions, making it easy to imagine the upgrade after every standard upgrade.
