Microsoft Teams reaches 75 million users daily
The daily user base of Microsoft Teams reached 75 million during the Covid-19 season.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has shared growth figures with Teams service surpassing 75 million daily active users. A 70% growth from 44 million users in just six weeks, and an increase of 110% compared to the previous 4 months. Microsoft explained the spike in part due to increased demand for telework during the Covid-19 season.
Microsoft Teams services grew rapidly during the epidemic season
Mr Nadella said in an online meeting: 'We have seen more than 200 million people participate in online meetings in a single day this month, generating over 4.1 billion minutes of meetings. And there are more than 75 million daily active users, participating in forms of communication, and 2/3 of them have shared, collaborated or interacted with files on Teams'.
Microsoft currently has 258 million Office 365 business users active monthly in the past quarter, which means that 29% of the above users are using Teams to work.
Nadella also added that in the healthcare industry alone, there have been more than 34 million Teams meetings in the past month. More than 183,000 educational institutions currently operate on Teams and 20 organizations with more than 100,000 employees are using Teams.
Teams can be seen as the fastest growing business application ever by Microsoft.
