Microsoft released Visual Studio Community 2013 for free for programmers

In addition to Visual Studio 2015, at Connect, Microsoft also released Visual Studio Community 2013 for free for developers. However, one thing to note is that this version of Visual Studio is not used in enterprise application development.

Visual Studio Community 2013 is a free version but still provides the necessary environment for programmers, targeted at students, open source communities, small companies, startups, . This version includes all the features needed from desktop, cloud, device, web & services, and support for Windows, iOS, and Android platforms. This is an interesting version if you start with .NET.
