Microsoft Released a Preview of the Family Protection

Microsoft has released the first preview version of the Microsoft Family Safety app for Android and iOS users. This application is designed to protect users and manage family members.

Although the application is still in development, Microsoft has added some convenient features such as content filtering and location sharing among family members. Some specific features of the application include:

Content filters: Create a safe space for children in the family so they can explore resources online. Set healthy boundaries when using the web and search filters to block adult content, set children to browse child-friendly websites on Microsoft Edge. Provide filters such as apps and games, web, search, set content blocking requests.

Screen time limits: Set the time limit for screen usage on devices. If your child regularly uses the device to learn online, you can set it up for specific apps like games or entertainment apps.

Features of Screen time limit:

• App and game limits (Xbox, Windows, Android): limits apps and games.

• Device limits (Xbox and Windows): limit device usage.

• Screen time requests: request screen limits.

Activity reporting: Get detailed information about your family's activities. Both parents and children can view their activity reports on device usage time, websites that are frequently accessed and searched online.

Location awareness: Stay connected even when away from each other. See your loved ones on a map with location sharing, save the places they visit the most to know where family members are at a glance.

The app is currently limited to 10,000 users on iOS and 10,000 users on Android, currently available globally except for China, Japan, countries and regions with right-to-left languages and countries. US embargoed countries and territories.
