Limit download speed by Internet Download Manager helps you control your Internet speed more efficiently. You have both an internet connection speed to access the network and an effective file download speed. When you limit the download speed by IDM, IDM will not take up much network traffic and you still have enough network bandwidth to access the internet.

Step 1: By default, Internet Download Manager will start up with the system, double click on the IDM icon under the system tray to open the main IDM interface.
Step 2: On the Internet Download Manager interface, select the Downloads tab -> Speed Limiter -> Settings to set the download speed limit.
The Speed Limiter settings dialog box appears, enter the download speed limit in the box next to the KBytes / sec unit and then click OK to save it.
Step 3: After limiting the download speed, select Downloads -> Speed Limiter -> Turn on to activate the download speed limit by IDM.
Also if you are downloading a file but want to limit the speed directly to the file you are downloading, select the Speed Limiter tab and then click Use Speed Limiter and enter the download speed limit in the Maximum download speed box .
